R. Bruce Stewart
Chairman of the Board

A life-long entrepreneur, Mr. Stewart has started and funded over eighteen companies and has taken several of them to the public markets. Mr. Stewart is also the Chairman and CEO of Arrowhead Research Corporation (NASDAQ:ARWR), Unidym's parent company. Prior to founding Arrowhead Research, Mr. Stewart founded Acacia Research Corporation, which he took public in 1995. During Mr. Stewartˇ¦s eight-year tenure, Acacia built a portfolio of subsidiary companies operating in the areas of biotechnology, media technology licensing, direct marketing and early internet applications, reaching a market cap of close to $1 billion. Mr. Stewart gained much of his knowledge and experience in corporate finance from his 15-year tenure as President of Annandale Securities, an investment banking firm and registered broker dealer, where he structured innovative financing vehicles which have since become industry standard.


Art Swift
President & CEO

Mr. Swift brings over 20 years of senior management experience in the semiconductor industry to Unidym. Previously, Mr. Swift was President and CEO of Transmeta Corporation, an innovative semiconductor company in the Silicon Valley. Prior to his promotion to CEO, he was Senior Vice President of Marketing. At Transmeta, Mr. Swift was instrumental in transforming the company's strategy from selling semiconductor chips to developing and licensing intellectual property. Prior to Transmeta, Mr. Swift held senior leadership roles ranging from Office of the President and Chief Operating Officer at an embedded software startup, Lynuxworks, to Vice President and General Manager at a variety of large divisions of the established chip-maker Cirrus Logic. Art has also held senior marketing and engineering positions with Summit Microelectronics, Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment, and Fairchild Semiconductor. Mr. Swift holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.


Edward W. Frykman
Director

Edward W. Frykman has been an Account Executive with Crowell, Weedon & Co. since 1992. Previously, Mr. Frykman served as Senior Vice President of L.H. Friend & Co. Both Crowell, Weedon & Co. and L.H. Friend & Co. are investment brokerage firms located in Southern California. In addition, Mr. Frykman was a Senior Account Executive with Shearson Lehman Hutton where he served as the Manager of the Los Angeles Regional Retail Office of E. F. Hutton & Co.


Dr. Bob Gower
Dr. Bob Gower, former President and CEO of Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc., has over 40 years of experience in the chemical industry, 30 of which were in operational and managerial roles for companies such as Atlantic Richfield, ARCO Chemical and Lyondell Petrochemical Company. Gower became President of Lyondell when it was formed in 1985 and led its transformation from an unprofitable company to one recognized as one of the 100 best manufacturing companies in the world when he retired in late 1996.


Charles P. McKenney
Charles P. McKenney has maintained a government affairs law practice in Pasadena, California since 1989, representing businesses and organizations in their relations with government regarding their obligations under state and local land use and trade practices laws. From 1973 through 1989, he served as Attorney for Corporate Government Affairs for Sears, Roebuck and Co., helping organize and carry out Sear's Western state and local government relations programs. Mr. McKenney has served two terms on the Pasadena, California City council, on several city boards and committees in Pasadena, including three city Charter Reform Task Forces.


Ray McLaughlin
Board Member

Mr. McLaughlin served previously as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Carbon Nanotechnologies, Inc. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Cain Chemical until its purchase by Occidental Petroleum, and as an Executive of the Atlantic Richfield Company. Mr. McLaughlin is a CPA, and received a BBA in Accounting and Economics from Midwestern University, and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
